Guidance > Tutor Groups

Every member of staff is responsible for monitoring the progress of
a group of about 10 students through their two years at the College.
Mentoring is probably
a better word, as the role involves discussing with and counseling students
on their academic progress and the balance they are achieving in their
activities and social life. Help, company, conversation all form part
of this as do tutor gatherings at the tutor's apartment or off campus
at a modest restaurant. The 'home from home' experience of cooking a
meal
(for many students, for the first time it would seem!) for fellow students,
is one of the most enjoyable parts of the tutor/tutee arrangement and
many students produce impressive meals based on family cooking from their
own country, on a modest budget.
