BTW is a student-generated newspaper whose objectives include:

• giving students the opportunity to develop the skills of responsible journalism;
• increasing awareness of the issues involved in journalism e.g. defining the audiences, editorial policy, balance and meeting deadlines;
• providing the College community with a forum for the publication and discussion of opinions on matters of common interest;
• adding positively to the ethos of the College by underlining and focussing on key values to which UWC's subscribe.
