You will be responsible for designing and conducting workshops for all non-Cantonese speaking First Years at the beginning of the first term. The aim of this programme is to help the overseas students to “survive” in Hong Kong.

The Ga Seung Hwa this year started off with Block One presenting their topic on the Monday, October 3rd, 2005. The Ga Seung Hwa is a tradition in LPC where the first years do presentations about Hong Kong/Chinese culture. Each block is graded for their effort and creativity. The block that has the best presentation gets a full free house party. The Block One presentation was about Chinese festivals. The topics they covered were the Chinese New Year, Ching Ming Festival, Dragon Boat Festival and Chung Yang Festival. It was an interesting presentation that enthralled all the overseas students as they learned a bit more about the Chinese festivals.
