During the academic year 2010-2011 the IT technician was able to:

  1. Install and maintain three new servers
  2. Provide support in the development of ICT within the College. This included support for email (setting up of accounts and maintain email functionality); network connections (internet and network connections); Trouble-shooting helpdesk (computers; printers and projectors).

The result of this has meant that the College has maintained a stable network over the course of the last academic year.

Welcome to Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong

Having recently been appointed as Principal of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong I already know that I am extremely privileged to be leading such a vibrant college community.  The College consists of just over 250 students, representing over 80 different nationalities.  This means that students have the opportunity to live and study with students from a very wide range of cultural backgrounds.

All the students and the College teaching staff live on the campus of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong.  This means that a very unique community develops based on students and staff.   All students follow the IB Diploma curriculum.

A special feature of Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong is the breadth and depth of activities that students undertake outside of the “taught” curriculum.  In the afternoons and weekends students are involved in over 90 different activities based around the themes of Creativity, Action and Service.  Students also participate in at least one activities week either in China or the rest of the world per year.

Li Po Chun United World College of Hong Kong was established in 1992.  We are situated on a large peninsula on the edge of Ma on Shan Country Park, in the New Territories.  The campus was purpose built with excellent classroom facilities including wi-fi access across campus.

In this packed 8-day summer programme from 4th to 11th of August, 2011 on the campus of LPCUWC, students from Hong Kong, Mainland China and Japan will engage in constructive dialogue, cultural activities, leadership training and community services conducted in the Guangdong province. The goal of the conference is to increase intercultural understanding in hopes of a more peaceful future between Japan and China.

    The theme this year “Knowledge is Power” will not only allow participants to deepen their understanding of cross-border issues but also learn to look beneath the surface of conflicts and read between the lines of our current politicians.
