What is Happy Tree?
Happy Tree Social Services Ltd. is a Christian charity based in Hong Kong that has established a wide network within Cambodia and China to care for children of all faiths and backgrounds who would otherwise have little hope for the future. Through its various orphanages, Happy Tree houses, feeds and educates children, and provides scholarships for orphans through school and university.
What is LPC’s involvement in Happy Tree?
Two years ago, LPC sent a project team to work in the CPCDO and Rainbow Bridge orphanages in Cambodia. The project has been on hiatus since that trip, but was re-instated this year. The team’s primary objective throughout the year has been getting the project week trip off the ground. As the project has been realized and is set for the week of March 8-14th, the objectives towards the end of the year revolve around creating presentations for educating about the issues and obstacles orphans face in Cambodia today.
