The College is very grateful that the Education Bureau has made a Capacity Enhancement Grant available to the College this year, and we express our deep appreciation for the increased rate of funding. Following discussions with academic staff, the following allocation of funds for 2007-08 has been agreed.
The funds in 2007-08 will be used to employ a part time teacher of Mandarin Chinese, allowing for a reassignment of teaching responsibilities within the Language department to allow an English teacher, who also has training in Music, to offer Music as a curriculum subject for the first time in this academic year.
The short-term success of this proposal will be judged on the enrolment of students for this course and the delivery of an appropriate teaching programme to them. The long-term objective will be the continuing development of the academic curriculum of the College, and hopefully also a strengthening of the cultural enrichment of our students.
