A Movie Night with Stories, Inspiration, and Global Connections

What happens when over 50 students, staff, and UWC alumni from UWC USA, Adriatic, Atlantic, Thailand, Japan, and China come together for a night of storytelling, creativity, and shared experiences? On 13 September, LPC hosted a truly special and exclusive Movie Night featuring the award-winning film “Before We Forget (Duino)”, uniting the UWC community through powerful narratives, meaningful conversations, and a celebration of artistic excellence.

The evening began with Year 2 students Naima and Logan sharing their unforgettable UWC Adriatic Summer School experiences in the presence of Mr. Gonzalo Lopez Jordan, a UWC Adriatic alumnus, Executive Producer of the film, and Programme Director of Patagonia Education Partners. Both Logan and Naima reflected on how the programme enriched their UWC journey through insightful and practical experiential learning, as well as leadership training. They shared how these experiences have been instrumental in preparing them to take on leadership roles as Year 2 students.

The highlight of the night was an exclusive live online Q&A session with another UWC Adriatic alumnus, Mr. Juan Pablo Di Pace, the Director, Co-writer, and Actor of the film.  Joining us from Los Angeles, Juan shared the inspiration behind “Before We Forget”, along with behind-the-scenes stories from its creation.

He also offered heartfelt advice on pursuing creative dreams and carving a path in the film and entertainment industry, leaving the audience deeply inspired and motivated.
