Organised by Jason Yu (LPCUWC ’06), Chairman of UWC Graduates Organisation Hong Kong and Barrister at Des Voeux Chambers, three of our Year 1 students, Emma, Tanisha, and Frederike, took part in the first Law Exploration Programme on 13–14 October during their mid-term break.
Over two days, students observed live proceedings at the High Court Building, including a civil hearing and a two-day appeal featuring LPC alumnus and barrister Christopher Chain SC, and learned about various legal procedures. They also visited Des Voeux Chambers in Central, where they spoke with barristers about studying and practising law in Hong Kong. Between sessions, Jason shared his LPC journey and career insights, offering perspective and encouragement to the next generation of LPCers.
"We are grateful for the valuable advice we received on potential career paths in law. It not only broadened our perspectives but also gave us deeper insight into the real world," said our Year 1 students.
Thank you to Jason and the team at Des Voeux Chambers for opening their doors to our students. We look forward to seeing this programme grow in the near future .
