How do you advocate for the effects of climate change in a way that truly resonates with people? For Yik Kei Leung (LPCUWC ’18), the answer lies in the transformative power of storytelling.
This year, on United Nations Day (24 October), we celebrated the remarkable work of Yik Kei, who is leading the global campaign Healthy Planet Now. By capturing and sharing personal stories of how climate change affects health and communities, Yik Kei is turning lived experiences into actionable solutions, bridging the gap between everyday realities and global policy decisions.
Through Healthy Planet Now, these impactful stories are being shared with global leaders at major climate forums, including London Climate Action Week and the upcoming COP30 in Brazil. By framing climate action through the lens of health and wellbeing, Yik Kei is making the fight against climate change personal, empowering individuals and communities, and driving meaningful, human-centred solutions.
