Reconnecting Coast-to-Coast: Highlights from the LPCUWC USA Tour 2026
This October, Principal Dr Spencer Fowler and Director of Advancement & External Relations, Michael, went on a coast-to-coast journey across the United States to reconnect with LPCUWC alumni, supporters, and the broader UWC community. Spanning New York City, Boston, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. The tour brought together over 200 alumni and friends, celebrating shared memories and the enduring strength of our global network.
The tour started off with two amazing events on 10 October in New York City, where over 50 alumni and friends gathered at Harriet's Rooftop for an energetic evening overlooking the city skyline, with Spencer sharing campus updates and future visions for the College. A special thank you to Kevin and Clio from the UWC New York Chapter for co-organising such a wonderful session.
The New York leg also featured highlights beyond the main gathering, including a private tour of the United Nations headquarters hosted by alumnus Gabriel Pak (Class of 2008), as well as a meeting with Ms Maisie Ho, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in New York, to introduce LPCUWC’s ongoing work and vision.
The LPC team then continued to Boston, where on 13 October, Spencer and Michael met with a vibrant group of local alumni and UWC community members. Heartfelt thanks to alumna Eva Tse (Class of 2000) for generously hosting us at her place for such a warm evening.
Our USA Tour concluded with an unforgettable stretch through California. In Los Angeles, host Andrew Paquin (LPC Class of 1996) kindly opened his doors to welcome our alumni community, while Michelle Kwong (Class of 2025) bought Spencer and Michael for a walk around UCLA and shared her new experience at the university.
Our final stop in San Francisco brought the trip to a triumphant close with a fantastic gathering co-organised alongside the UWC Bay Area Chapter and the UWC International Office. While in San Francisco, we were also glad to connect with Mr DC Cheung, Director of the Hong Kong Economic and Trade Office in San Francisco, sharing LPCUWC’s mission and impact.
Across every city, the warmth, hospitality, and generosity of our community made this tour truly special. From alumni opening their homes and office spaces to chapter leaders co-hosting events, this journey highlighted the incredible spirit that unites LPCUWC and the global UWC movement.
Thank you to every host, organiser, and attendee who came out to make these events so memorable. Though the USA tour has wrapped up, the connections built along the way continue to thrive. Stay tuned for future gatherings and events!
