Atia's Multiple Wins at HKGSA's Swimming Competition

Congratulations to Atia, our Year 1 student, for her excellent performance at the Hong Kong China Swimming Association (HKGSA) Division 3 Long Course Swimming Competition, held earlier on 17 May.

Atia dominated her events in the 15–17 age category against 27 other swimmers in the 50-meter Olympic-sized pool. With her exceptional speed, Atia came first in the 50m Butterfly and will be advancing to Division 1 to compete, while placing second in the 100m Breaststroke, and qualifying to Division 2 to compete.

Started swimming at the age of 3, Atia has competed in over 100 competitions. For the past three years, she has also proudly represented Uganda’s National Swimming Team in regional competitions across Africa.

Relocating to a new sports system while managing the rigours of the IB curriculum is no easy feat. Atia expressed her gratitude to her teachers—Hayley, Linda, and Nicki—for supporting her to continue her athletic journey in Hong Kong.

Atia now has her sights set on competing in the HKGSA Championships next term.

Congratulations, Atia! Keep pushing forward!
