Diving into a New Wave at LPCUWC

We are thrilled to kick off the new academic year with an oceanic vibe, as we welcome 10 pioneering students to the first-ever Marine Science course at LPCUWC!

This multidisciplinary IB standard-level course, co-taught by Dr. Wendy Liu-Hayes and Mr. Craig Hamilton, delves into the natural and social sciences behind our oceans. From El Niño to coral bleaching, global warming to storm preparedness, students will explore critical global challenges that revolve around our blue planet.

A big shoutout to Ms Laura Verhegge at Pearson College UWC for spearheading this initiative among UWC schools. Align perfectly with the UWC mission, together, we are shaping changemakers for a sustainable future. We can’t wait to see the meaningful and positive impact this course and its students will have on the world.
