LPCUWC Year 1 Physicists Strike Gold at HK Young Physicists' Tournament 2026

Updated: 4 days ago

Congratulations to our Year 1 students—Kiril, Paul, Noura, and Atia—for winning the Gold Award at the Hong Kong Young Physicists' Tournament 2026!

Organised by The Hong Kong Academy for Gifted Education (HKAGE), the final round of the tournament, held on 7 February, saw an intense competition among 14 teams from 10 elite local and international schools, including Chinese International School, German Swiss International School, St. Paul's Co-educational College, Diocesan Boys' School, Diocesan Girls' School, and more.

Paul and Kiril presented their independent Physics experimental findings, defending their processes, analyses, conclusions, and evaluations with precision and confidence. Meanwhile, Atia and Noura focused on two additional Physics experiments and skilfully challenged the work presented by their fellow contestants.

Physics teacher and group mentor Mr Magan Savant praised the students for their strong teamwork and high-quality group work throughout the tournament, noting that winning the championship was a well-deserved highlight.

As part of their achievement, students from the Top 5 teams of HKYPT will be invited to join HKAGE through the "Nurturing the Gifted Scheme" and gain access to advanced programmes designed for gifted students.

Well done, Kiril, Paul, Noura, and Atia!
